    uniE621 Our Autistic Journey
Our Autistic Journey is a black-owned business for my client’s 2 sons. Something that is very special to my client. Her devotion and awareness for her sons inspired a strategy to build an Autism brand that spreads awareness and gives back to others. The logo mark flows from strategy and positioning to create a specific and very intentional brand perception. The idea is to change the narrative of the meaning of Autism. Instead of the typical bright colors, they are more calming. Based on research, those with Autism do not like bright colors. The colors overall represent hope. Hope is for awareness, acceptance, and understanding that’s communicated by peace/love/infinity within the puzzle piece and inspiring inclusivity for people on the Autism Spectrum. The Our Autistic Journey brand identity is based on the puzzle piece, the peace sign, the simple heart, and the infinity symbol. The puzzle piece signifies the “complexity” of the autism spectrum. The peace sign is for “acceptance” of Autism because it is treated as a burden to others. The heart is for “love” and you need to love autistic people the same you would others. Lastly, the infinity symbol is for “understanding” for advocacy and diversity for Autism, The typeface is more creative in motion. Based on market research, Autistic children are the most creative. All the elements together feel more accepting, supportive, and positive with personality. logo graphicdesigner branding illustrator designer
    uniE621 OKAY for Mental Health
OKAY is a mental health brand identity based on the common response “I AM OKAY” after being asked. The thing is that when you are feeling down or in the midst of a personal crisis, responding to someone who greets you with, “How are you?” or “How are you today?” can be a difficult question. When people are being asked “Are you okay?” during a dark depression can sometimes be led to a different but disturbing reaction. The logo mark is bold yet empowering. The idea is to change the narrative of mental health and bring awareness more simply. The bold is in your face symbolizing “listen to me” and “understand how I feel”. The colors represent the noticeability shade to the human eye, which is known to stimulate mental activity, and awareness, and encourage communication for mental health. The OKAY brand identity is based on simple, geometric letterforms, rectangles, and the circle for emotion. The circle is a symbol of feeling. We put a smile on our faces as protection from others and create the illusion that we’re okay when we're not or when we’re suffering. All the elements together feel more accepting, supportive, and positive with personality. logo graphicdesigner branding illustrator webdesigner designer
uniE621 The Mechanical Beauty of Steampunk
Objective To design an 80 page book using strong concept and visual language system.   Approach My concept is The Mechanical Beauty of Steampunk. I wanted to focus on giving the design a non-modern look, but still remaining true to the ideal todays world of design and minimalism. I purposefully wanted to stay away from the obvious and showing too many gears and machinery throughout the booklet. Instead, I wanted to focus on intricate details and ornamentation using detailed and elegant imagery to present what Steampunk is. bookdesigner graphicdesigner branding steampunk editorial visualdesign typography
