Alice Mills is a predominantly computer-based composer based in London. Her passion for music and technology has led her to be particularly interested in interweaving the richness of orchestral instruments with the infinite spectrum of electronic sounds. Driven by a love of art, Alice found herself drawn to the collaborative nature of film, and loves weaving her music into visual narratives. She has worked on numerous award-winning short films, dance works and animations, as well as her own personal music. Alice has had her work performed across Scotland by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra as part of the 'Music of John Williams' concert in 2024. Her other credits include ‘I Close My Eyes To See’, which won her ‘Best Original Score’ at Monthly Indie Shorts and ‘The Last Man’, a Virtual Production short, now streaming on DUSK YouTube channel. She has also composed for numerous dance works including for Grand Gesture, Buried Thunder and Lucy Bennet Dance Company. Growing up, she was classically trained in piano, violin and clarinet. However, her studies in music technology at Surrey University ignited a passion for experimentation with use of technology. Aside from composing, she is a live sound engineer and in her spare time loves drawing, painting, and production design.
