Where The Forest Springs
Music composition for a short film. I was approached and asked if I could compose a piece for a fashion photography project's behind-the-scenes film with one rule. The director wanted me to create a piece played on the Baltic traditional instrument known as kokle in Latvian, kanklės in Lithuanian and kannel in Estonian. At the time, I had owned and started learning this instrument for a month. I tried to channel the theme of homesickness, bring it to the sonic musical realm, through the sharp kokle string notes and the continuing ascending melodic lines, the repetitive cycle of sinking deep into that crushing yearning feeling.

Human. In A Work Process
Composing a score for a short documentary film about a weaver named Velga. I wanted to show Velga's sweet personality in the music. Her kindness and love for her craft was so heartwarming to watch. By using warm, harmonious and almost holy sounds like the organ and clarinets, I wanted to replicate this love.

As a part of my final module Professional Portfolio at Falmouth University, I created a project called Along With Time. This was an album in the experimental music genre inspired by my great-grandmother's sister's poetry collection. I recorded my grandmother reading the chosen poems, composed the music and put together an installation. I presented the audience with a deeper context of the people involved in the project, English translations of the poems and looped videoclips that followed the poems.
