Caterina has a strong formation as a composer. In 2016 she graduated with a BA Hons in Composition from PUJ and a diploma in Music and Sound for Film from U. Sabana. In November 2018 she graduated with first-class honours from the MA in Scoring for Film & Visual Media (Pulse College/DIT) where she studied with some of the most celebrated professionals in the film scoring industry. Some of her lecturers included Conrad Pope (Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Catch me if you can, Life of Pi...), Dr. Garrett Sholdice, Andy Hill (The Lion King, Beauty and The Beast, Anastasia...), Dr. Linda Buckley, Christopher Young (Spiderman, Drag me to Hell, Pet Sematary...) and Dr. Ciarán Crilly. Her music has been successful on the screen featuring on a number of films from diverse genres and origins. Caterina has worked with directors from the UK, Spain, Colombia, China, Greece, Ireland and Costa Rica composing music for drama, animation, documentary, period, thriller, romance, and fantasy. In 2017 she composed the music for the feature film "Despertar" directed by Soley Bernal and awarded best film in "Premios Lo Nuestro" (Costa Rica). Caterina has a strong presence on the stage having her music performed in numerous venues of her native country such as the National Museum of Bogotá. She has a particular talent working with life ensembles, having recorded her music with top-class musicians in state of the art recording studios from different parts of Europe, including the legendary Windmill Lane Studios in Dublin, BNR and Doli Media in Sofia, Bulgaria. Caterina has also worked as Orchestrator and in the score preparation department for TV and Film productions in Malaysia and North Korea. In December 2018 she became one of the founding members of Sonic Gate Studios, an international collective of sound artists working in music and sound for multimedia. The first release of the collective Aljafería: 6 Miradas" was premiered in the Aljafería Palace (Zaragoza, Spain) featuring Caterina's music for one of the segments.
