Chris Cox is a freelance drummer based in the Netherlands. From 2014-2018, he studied at the University of Leeds where he completed a BA in Music with Enterprise and an MA in Music and Management (First-Class Honours). During his time at Leeds, he performed drums in an array of musical ensembles such as the LUU Big Band and Musical Theatre societies. During his studies, he built a wide repertoire of musical genres making him a versatile player for big bands, small band Jazz ensembles, theatre as well as rock/pop party bands. Initially based in Yorkshire, Chris went on to become a well established freelance player where he has focused on high end function work and party band ensembles. He has regularly performed at corporate company events for the likes of the BBC, ITV, Soho House, AO UK and Manchester United FC. Chris has performed across the UK and Europe on tours, festivals, radio and television. His diverse performance resume includes the B-52s 40th Anniversary tour (main support), BBC Sports Personality of the Year, (Utility Arena), BBC Breakfast, ITV National, Capital Radio (London) Cork Jazz Festival (Ireland) and Lost Village Festival UK. Chris has regularly performed in theatre ensembles for various concerts and productions. This includes Camp Bestival (Isle of Wight) The Fringe Festival (Edinburgh) The Howard Goodall Showcase (Westminster Abbey) and the West End production of Mamma Mia with Royal Caribbean. Chris is currently focusing on music tutoring and freelance work.
