Born and raised in the heartland town of Wichita, Kansas, Dylan journeyed East for college to attend the experimental liberal arts school, Hampshire College in Western Massachusetts. After dabbling in the worlds of journalism, radio, and creative writing, Dylan ultimately returned to his original love of filmmaking. He incorporated his various influences into his video production work, creating unique and thought provoking pieces, ranging from diaristic shorts to exciting music videos for local musicians. His studies culminated during his final years in a feature-length documentary film, "On Belonging" (2017) where he traveled over 12,000 miles by car to the strangest corners of the United States, documenting alternative living communities such as ecovillages and RV parks. After graduating from Hampshire in 2017 and receiving some positive reviews from film festivals, Dylan immediately began production on his second film, "Nostra Gente" (2018). This time traveling to his ancestral homeland of Italy, he focused the camera on Italians (or at least, people residing there) to talk about the topical and controversial subject of immigration and nationalism, both in Italy and the United States. Making the predictable move to California, he cut his teeth for four years in the Los Angeles film industry as well as in the bustling San Francisco tech hub. Dylan now lives in New York City, and is currently working remotely as a freelance video editor. His latest accolade is from his work as a video editor for the SUNDANCE-nominated VICE docu-series, “Better Angels: The Gospel According to Tammy Faye”.
