    uniE621 D’harawal Collages
Series of collages representing the six D’harawal seasons. The brief encourages the creation of a concise visual language to effectively translate throughout the seasons. I chose to approach these with a few set ‘rules’: Shape: each collage represents the salient flowering flora of that season Material: the hands and hair are the metaphoric leaves that hold the fruit or flowers of the plants Colour: represent the temperature; where warmer seasons have warm colours The varying textures and colours in the background represent the temperament and elements of the season, while the flat shapes and human hands represent the flowering, respective flora. The composition is structured so that the background forms vector lines towards the plant and implies the emerging of a new season. For these collages, I used a 2018 issue of the Frankie magazine and all six 2017 issues from Vertigo magazines. I found there were great textures with matte paper and photographs. photo graphicdesigner photoshop collage artist
    uniE621 The Crows
This video aims to emulate curiosity, beginning and creation when an Aboriginal elder shares his story of the Dreamtime to the children. Hand-generated type and organic illustrations of La Perouse create a sense of wonder within the place. https://vimeo.com/329583667 The audio is an excerpt on the Indigenous story of the Crow told by Uncle Greg Simms. Upon visiting, listening and sketching elements from La Perouse where he grew up, I researched more about Indigenous Culture specific to South-Eastern Australia including the Dream Time and the Indigenous connection with the Sea. Then, I began storyboarding, watercolour illustrations and placing assets into Adobe Aftereffects for motion graphics. graphicdesigner illustrator motiongraphics motiondesign
    uniE621 Farmers Market
This promotional flyer/poster is intended to be distributed as a guide at Carriageworks and the Farmers Market. They also hold sunflower seeds that can be collected when users purchase organic wares. The print publication is 265x265mm, 150gsm, intended to hold at least 20 seeds. It goes through two different printers (black digital imaging and pink risograph) and is left to dry for a few days before cut and folded manually. To tie in with the organic and hands-on style of the Farmers Market, the spot pink alignment was left imperfect. graphicdesigner flyers illustrator photo designer
