Luis Pinto has over 10 years of experience as a graphic designer and muralist. Coming from a background in street art, it is important that his work engages with the public. Pinto has taught Master Classes at Oakland School of the Arts and Virtual workshops at the Richmond Art Center. Working with teenagers and children is very important to him as an artist. Pinto has worked with multiple companies creating large-scale murals in Miami, and the Bay Area. Some of these organizations are David Lombardi properties, Tony Goldman properties, Downtown Hollywood Mural Project, and Paint the Void to name a few. Pinto’s experience as a freelance graphic designer has allowed him to develop skills to manage teams and projects under strict timelines- from conceptualization, recruiting staff, sourcing materials, budgeting costs, designing assets, and overseeing applications. In 2016 Pinto was selected by SF Beautiful for their Muni-art contest. In 2011 he started Strangeways magazine, an annual publication that showcases early to mid-career artists. Since 2018 Pinto’s been working with 7th West as their lead designer. Lastly, Pinto has worked with III Points music festival creating an experiential installment for its patrons. The project, White dragon, Featured in the 2017 festival, was a popup bar stylized with a cyberpunk aesthetic. It consisted of a 90-foot mural, Dj Booth, and bar activations. The process of conceptualizing design and blending it with his art practice for the urban landscape and human interaction has allowed Pinto to emphasize the significance of symbols in the universal consciousness and social exchange.
