I am a singer songwriter from Dublin, Ireland who plays guitar and mandola. I also speak many languages.
In the 1990s I was part of the Galway based band, Far Canals. They released two albums and one EP with Hunter S. Records. The bands anarchic, anti-establishment ethos was reflected in many of their songs which railed against the police, drug laws, organised religion and political corruption. Influenced by punk and blues, Far Canals combined unusual guitar arrangements and distortion pedals to produce a highly distinctive sound.
I’ve played many gigs as a solo act, I was the support artist for Julian Cope on his ‘An audience with the Cope tour’ of Irish Castles in 1993.
I have been a live sound engineer and have worked for a number of artists playing in the Galway area. I have also been a DJ, and have played at many parties and festivals in Spain and Portugal. I have a band called The Rocking Horse of Oisin which still play occasional gigs at festivals and venues in Portugal.
I have travelled extensively, much of my youth was spent trekking around Europe, and I has lived for periods in France, Germany, Spain and Portugal and can speak those languages although my German is a but rusty these days. My first language is English but I also speak some Irish.
I am currently writing and touring with my newest band, Undying Heads. We are a two piece band with myself playing guitar or mandola and singing and a female vocalist who also plays bodhran or mandola. We can play anything from a Happy Birthday message to a whole gig of covers or original music.
