Our project together consisted of two different parts.
First, we wrote and produced our collaborative song BB.
BB was originally a song of mine I was release with another artist from Argentina, my country of origin. Nevertheless, I met Guillem, he listened to the demo and offered himself to be the other half of the project. He immediately sent me a lyrics idea and a demo recording of his part of the song. BB was originally a song of mine I was release with another artist from Argentina, my country of origin. Nevertheless, I met Guillem, he listened to the demo and offered himself to be the other half of the project. He immediately sent me a lyrics idea and a demo recording of his part of the song. I was surprised by how enthusiastic he was about the project, how fast he had written the lyrics, how good and catchy they were and the quality of his singing, despite it being just a demo.
I obviously accepted the offering and we soon went to the studio to properly record and produce the song.
The production was made by Adrián Hidalgo at Lasting Noise Recording Studios, in Madrid.
It was one of my first times recording at a professional studio and Guillem guided, helped and directed me a lot, suggesting wonderful ideas always in a very constructive and reassuring way. Also, I could witness how professional he was at working in a recording studio, how creative and efficient he was at recording his parts, listening to the results and bringing up ideas.
Then came the second part of the project, which was the shooting and editing of the music video. A friend of mine came with us to be the cameraman. However, it was Guillem who pretty much directed the video. He would take out his own camera and propose ideas which would make me shine on the video, even if it was a music video for both of us.
We simulated we were going out to a night party in Madrid, but he kept a serious and professional attitude at all times, constantly bringing up innovative ideas.
After the shooting, he took care of the editing... and WOW! I absolutely love the results. His creativity is enormous. I'm still mesmerized with what he did with the footage he had. He has no fear to try new and provocative things, to break the boundaries and preconceived ideas of how a music video must look like.
BB, both the song and the music video, is one of the projects I'm still today most proud of, and it has to do with having Guillem on it as both a singer and a video creator.
