    uniE621 Gum Print
This artwork is a profound exploration of texture, materiality, and technique, realized through the gam print manual printing method. The process began with the transformation of fabric, carefully treated with gold leaf to imbue it with a sense of timeless elegance. Through a meticulous aging process, the fabric was weathered to convey layers of history and narrative. The design, initially conceptualized as a personal vision, was developed and refined in Photoshop, where it was meticulously adjusted to align with the artist’s aesthetic sensibilities and conceptual depth. This digital phase was not merely technical but served as a bridge between the abstract and the tangible, allowing the artist to fully articulate their ideas. Finally, the enriched design was transferred onto the prepped fabric using the gam print technique, a manual process requiring precision and a deep connection with the medium. The result is a multidimensional piece that harmonizes contemporary digital methodologies with traditional craftsmanship, offering a dialogue between the ephemeral and the enduring, the artificial and the organic.
    uniE613 Kilim&Gabbeh
Project Summary This project by Hoda Pishraft represents a seamless blend of Eastern and Western art, combining handmade paper techniques learned at the Brera Academy in Italy with authentic Persian threads and Gabbeh materials. Each piece reflects the rich cultural heritage of Iran, inspired by the traditions of kilim weaving and Gabbeh designs, which date back to Iran's nomadic communities. Through meticulous craftsmanship involving stitching, dyeing, and innovative use of materials, the artworks symbolize the unique customs and cultural depth of various Iranian cities. The creation process demanded approximately 2,000 hours of dedication, embodying both artistic ingenuity and cultural preservation. This endeavor transcends mere artistry, aiming to awaken creativity, foster tranquility, and celebrate the fusion of heritage and innovation in modern life.
