I am Jack Brown, an audio engineer and producer based in Belfast, with a passion for music and sound. A recent graduate of Ulster University’s Music, Sound and Technology BSc program, I have developed a diverse portfolio through extensive freelance work.
At Red Box Recording Studios, I specialised in recording, mixing, and mastering for various local artists and assisted with live audio production at Belfast TradFest. My academic collaborations include recording Ulster University’s choir and working on VR audio projects with Sentireal.
As the lead sound engineer for Sofar Sounds, I managed live audio for numerous venues and provided similar services for Regard and the Oh Yeah Centre. My experience extends to recording and post-production for TG4, RTÉ, Scott’s Jazz Club, and Les Foyer Des Artistes, including a live event for the BBC on Radio Ulster.
I am committed to supporting local talent, having founded a society in Derry/Londonderry to promote artists through sold-out shows. For six years, I have taught music to individuals from all backgrounds through a charitable organization. Additionally, I have composed music for children’s storytelling experiences with NI Screens and developed game audio using Unreal Engine in collaboration with local developers.
