I am Jack Brown, an audio engineer and producer based in Belfast, with a passion for music and sound. A recent graduate of Ulster University's Music, Sound and Technology BSc program, I have developed a diverse portfolio through extensive freelance work. At Red Box Recording Studios, I specialised in recording, mixing, and mastering for various local artists and assisted with live audio production at Belfast TradFest. My academic collaborations include recording Ulster University's choir and working on VR audio projects with Sentireal. As the lead sound engineer for Sofar Sounds, I managed live audio for numerous venues and provided similar services for Regard and the Oh Yeah Centre. My experience extends to recording and post-production for TG4, RTÉ, Scott’s Jazz Club, and Les Foyer Des Artistes, including a live event for the BBC on Radio Ulster. I am committed to supporting local talent, having founded a society in Derry/Londonderry to promote artists through sold-out shows. For six years, I have taught music to individuals from all backgrounds through a charitable organization. Additionally, I have composed music for children's storytelling experiences with NI Screens and developed game audio using Unreal Engine in collaboration with local developers.

    uniE613 Brawl Apart
Brawl Apart is an indie fighting game that combines intense, arcade-style gameplay with a unique soundscape that I had the privilege of designing and implementing. From crafting punchy combat sounds and immersive ambient backdrops to developing distinct audio cues for each character, my role was to create an auditory experience that complemented the game’s high-energy visuals and fast-paced action. Balancing powerful sound effects with clarity was key, especially given the game's intensity. By implementing layered audio that adjusted to gameplay dynamics, I ensured essential sounds were impactful yet unobtrusive, supporting players’ immersion and strategic decision-making. Player feedback praised the sound design’s role in enhancing gameplay depth and satisfaction, making Brawl Apart a rewarding project that demonstrates my ability to fuse creativity with technical skill to elevate the indie gaming experience. uniE613 PlasterCast
In 2023, I co-founded PlasterCast, a band rooted in a shared passion for dynamic and authentic music. From the outset, I took on a multifaceted role, not only performing but also overseeing the technical production of our debut single, Lies. This process involved managing each step of the recording, mixing, and mastering stages to bring our artistic vision to life. Working closely with the band, I ensured our sound was cohesive and impactful, balancing both creative and technical elements to achieve a polished final product. Lies marks the first of many releases that define our evolving sound and commitment to quality.
