I've worked as an illustrator, art director and participation artist for over twenty five years with licensed illustration and design work sold both nationally and internationally for clients ranging from Shreds for Harrods and Selfridges to Halcyon Days Fine Enamels in Mayfair. Clients have included illustration for interiors of Rainbow Magic publications from Orchard Books/Dynamo Ltd, as well as poses and icons with Michelle Porte-Davies Design for Paddington Bear & Co's Official Illustrated Brand Guide 2013. Illustration for packaging, TV and film props ( Lewis with ITV), interpreted historical illustration as Lead Artist on Herts Hidden Heroines for Trestle Theatre Company, and giftware design for The Sherlock Holmes Museum. Participation clients, working in heritage and with theatre settings across community and with multiple agencies include The Woodland and Wildlife Trusts (participatory installation and work with excluded teens), New Hope Trust for people facing homelessness, London Borough of Brent for the Cultural Olympiad 2012 (eco design stars with schools) @Kingjohn1215 and interactive light, social media and sound journey through the themes of the Magna Carta with St Albans Festival, SPID and Trestle Theatre companies, Cambridgeshire Libraries archive project with schools and Hertfordshire Libraries for My Story where I devised Graphic Novel Me. I’ve been an Arts Director for St Albans Arts (STARTS) bringing new arts experiences to the St Albans area between 2004 and 2008, including successful stand up comedy night Funny First Mondays, pop up gallery, managing volunteers and roster, plus curation of work and programming art for the St Albans Old Town Hall, now a successful multi million pound museum and art gallery.
