A recipient of the COMPASS vocal scholarship, Joel is an English-Mandarin bilingual performing artist based in Singapore. After obtaining a degree in Psychology, Joel’s passion for acting and singing compelled him to pursue Musical Theatre at LASALLE, where his credits include playing Paul San Marco in A Chorus Line, Moritz Stiefel in Spring Awakening, Agwe in Once On This Island, and Iachimo in Cymbeline. Outside of Lasalle, Joel has also been involved in the production of Mixed by TheatreWorks,《有时月光》by Toy Factory,《小红帽》by SRT’s Little Company,《招: When the Cold Wind Blows》at the Singapore Theatre Festival by Wild Rice, and he was last seen in《Musical TARU! 恐龍復活了!》at the Resorts World Sentosa. Joel has also been featured in videos and commercials for organisations such as the Ministry of Home Affairs, Eleven Sports Network, Esplanade Singapore, and eBay Singapore. As an artist, Joel aspires to use theatre and music as a medium to affect change and empower the marginalised through the exploration of humanity, and ultimately bringing hope and joy to the audience.
