My name is John Palacios, an artist with 10+ years experience in graphic design, illustration and animation. My work includes promotional material (flyers, banners, billboards, etc.) and advertisements, illustrations for coloring and childrens books, and 2D animations. I have been a freelance artist since my teen years, with my first professional work involving the redesign of 30+ images for a medical coloring book distributed to Central and South America. I continued with freelance illustration until I began designing business cards and flyers. I produced logos, flyers, posters, business cards, album covers, invitations, t-shirt designs and illustrations for a variety of clients from musicians to small and large businesses. My freelance career began prior to my return to school where I achieved an Associates degree in Graphic Design, and a Bachelors degree in Advanced Video Production. While working toward my degrees, I joined with two other students to form a student group which sought to provide students with freelance opportunities in order to advance their experience before graduation. After graduating and prior to moving to Las Vegas, I worked in videography and graphic design for Oak Park Rec Hall in San Diego, CA. I provided promotional materials including posters, flyers, banners and promotional videos for multiple businesses housed within the building. While there, I also worked in freelance illustration for The Burton Company in La Jolla, CA, producing sketches and final drawings for the Annie Kai Lani Kai Lou series by Barbara Burton. Since moving to Las Vegas, I initially continued freelancing before finding a client in need of my skills. I've been working for Strip Advertising who owns and produces multiple magazines distributed along the Las Vegas Strip. I began with logo redesign, which moved into redesigning the format and layout of the magazine, and currently produce promotional materials including flyers, banners and promotional videos for social media and clientele. I also continue to update the magazine for print and digital consumption. My creative drive, and tenacity toward successful outcome of projects combined with ability to adapt to clients needs has helped my work excel beyond the satisfaction of my clients.
