John is an award-winning filmmaker and an avid learner and has kept himself on the forefront of learning everything he can from every point he can. He prides himself in his story arc that brought him to this point in life. When he was little he often wondered how some of his favorite cartoons ended up in the then days of CRT TVs, his father told him that they only went in at night waiting for the TV to be switched on in the morning so that he could watch them, that in turn got him curious to endeavor to one day get into TV and Film production, to which he turned around to tell authentic Kenyan stories and continues to push the envelope by asking himself WHY NOT? He has now been in the film industry for 17 years and is proud of the different achievements and accolades he has collated along the way. He has specialized in Directing, Cinematography and Editing, and has been getting an incline in building the industry using his God-given gifts of acting and doing voiceovers. From The Mohamed Amin Foundation, to working for Bloomberg Television he has worked on numerous sets in television and film. He was nominated for Best Cinematographer, Best Sound Edit and Best Editor for the Machakos Film Festival in 2017 where he won BEST EDITOR for the film TWICE UPON A TIME, In 2019 won the KALASHA INTERNATIONAL AWARD for Best Editor for the film WHISTLE BLOWER. In 2022 Together with the Ogilvy team, were able to bag the 1st ever Gold Lion in the CannesLions2022 for the short LessoLessons. Late 2022 he directed season two of a Kenyan teen favorite show PAA BORN TO FLY.
