Joyce Lee is a composer and sound designer working in video games, film, art installations, and the concert stage. She created scores and sound design for indie games Discovering Old D’Hanis by Saltbox Interactive, Codename: Apocalypse by RANK B, and Sunflower Fist, a submission to the GDS micro game jam 2025. She also created a subtle and ambient score for the short film “Best Summer Polaroids” directed by Gq Playground which was released online in late 2024.
Joyce’s background as a multi-disciplinary artist enables her to use a variety of technologies in her music and sound design projects, including MaxMSP, FMOD, and Unity. She created sound installations such as Pedicel for DAAP ┳┳ TOI exhibition held by Star Fragments at Hong Kong Arts Centre, and electro-acoustic music pieces like I see the illumination for tape and solo vibraphone was performed at University of Omaha Nebraska and was broadcasted on RTHK4 ,and Trench for solo bassoon and live electronics was performed in Western Michigan University. Some of her notable concert music works include my Endure or Deny for cello and piano, which is commissioned by The Northern Tornadoes Project, and Point. Line. Plane which premiered at Western University.
Born in Hong Kong, she studied music at Hong Kong Baptist University and is currently based near Toronto, Canada, where she is pursuing a graduate degree in composition and creating music for media clients worldwide.
