Commission art and Dune! 2016 parody campaign

I've known Fagan since we were both university students, where I first became acquainted with his comic strips, false document satire, and unique portrait artwork. Years later I approached him ahead of the 2016 election with the idea of combining our shared love of the Dune series with our interest in US politics in the form of a multimedia art project called DUNE 2016! What followed was a months-long labor of love that included debate comics, parodies of news…I've known Fagan since we were both university students, where I first became acquainted with his comic strips, false document satire, and unique portrait artwork. Years later I approached him ahead of the 2016 election with the idea of combining our shared love of the Dune series with our interest in US politics in the form of a multimedia art project called DUNE 2016! What followed was a months-long labor of love that included debate comics, parodies of news and election websites, and an endless stream of Tweets sent in the voices of the characters we crafted for the narrative. Fagan worked on the project around the clock, coming up with ideas for adapting the daily activities of a political campaign into the Dune universe, constantly creating new ways to make a two-person debate setup visually compelling, and responding to updates in the news cycle within minutes to make our parody up-to-date with the bleeding edge of the real-life events happening around us. There is truly no one else who could have brought the same level of passion to the project and kept up with the pace with the demanding and varied set of tasks that the work required. The project was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I never would have been able to pull off without a partner who was all-in on the vision.
