Over the past decade, the Center for Communication & Engagement, under Kathleen Kennedy's leadership, has significantly impacted school districts. They have created and facilitated custom bond/tax referendum communication campaigns, which have provided over $1.2 billion in resources to schools across Oklahoma and Missouri. The Center caters to the communication needs of small rural schools to urban districts, offering services such as storytelling and changing the narrative, crisis response and preparation, focus group facilitation, social media, and education leadership transformation. After starting her school communication journey with Career Tech, Kennedy led the Communication team for OKC Public Schools for seven years, where she sometimes juggled 5- 7 crisis a day. Kathleen brings a deep knowledge of crisis communication to districts, including serving on the communication team following the devastating tornado in Moore, Oklahoma, which tragically claimed the lives of seven children during school hours. Her personal journey with leadership transformation began over six years ago attending entrepreneurial leadership conferences. Following COVID, Kathleen graduated from an online, leadership transformation class with 200 students from around the globe. Following her graduation, she was asked to come back and coach the same training. Kennedy is now combining her passions of working with educators and communications and weaving in leadership transformation coaching to educators across the U.S.
