Kerry Chen is a versatile and innovative composer, specialising in crafting soundscapes that blend atmospheric textures with orchestral elements. Originally from China, Kerry moved to the UK at the age of 15. She holds a master’s degree in Composition for Film and Television from the London College of Music and an undergraduate degree in Experimental Music Composition from University of Leeds.
During her studies, Kerry’s avant-garde compositions earned her the Ensemble Adaptor’s Composition Award. In addition to composing for student dramas and short films, she recently contributed music to a British feature film. Her work is supported by expertise in utilising high-quality sound libraries and professional equipment, as well as a thorough knowledge of industry standards for recording a full orchestra—from score preparation to mixing.
Beyond film and television, Kerry is passionate about creating captivating musical experiences for art galleries and sound installations. A recent project explored the relationship between colours, shapes, and timbre, resulting in music for several abstract pieces. With each project, she brings a distinctive and thoughtful approach, constantly pushing the boundaries of sound and emotion.
