Son of luthiers, Merlin grew up in an artistic environment. After trying out all the kitchen pots, he received his very first drum set. His passion for music kept growing and led him to complete his studies at the Lanaudière regional CEGEP in Joliette and later at the Université du Québec à Montréal where, after completing his bachelor's degree in popular music, he obtained a graduate diploma in film music. Currently teaching music, Merlin has also appeared on the scene as a drummer and percussionist in various musical groups. Especially attracted by the film scoring, he also took part in several short film projects.
