While I was a graphic designer for UVM, I had the opportunity to lead the graphic design campaign for the school’s annual “Winter Week of Welcome.” This job involved designing a logo, posters, social media assets, stickers, chapstick, and apparel. Inspired by sunsets reflecting off blankets of snow, I chose pink as the primary color. I conceptualized two critters to act as the mascots; a puma cub named Penny, and a goose named Gordon. It is important to me that my creations feel like characters rather than images, so I hand-drew them to exaggerate and give humor and personality to their expressions. Because of the different direction I took, the campaign was a huge success with statistics reporting 10% more attendees at events and attention on social media compared to previous years.
