She then spent a few months in Los Angeles, reading scripts at Voltage Pictures, before heading to Shanghai, where she spent seven years of her life. In Shanghai, after a year of intensive Mandarin learning, she produced and edited short and long documentaries for French television channels (France 3, Canal +, Arte, M6, TF1), as well as commercials and animated videos. She developed a humorous web series, Maidan 买单 (The Check), which she co-wrote, produced and edited, showcasing the quirky moments of life in Shanghai. In 2018, she served as executive producer on the feature film Minuscule 2: Mandibles from Far Away directed by Hélène Giraud and Thomas Szabo, part of which was filmed in Beijing. In 2019, after returning to France, she joined Urban Factory, where she produced feature films such as If Only I Could Hibernate by Zoljargal Purevdash (World Premiere at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, Un Certain Regard), Plan 75 by Chie Hayakawa (World Premiere at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, Un Certain Regard, Caméra d'Or Special Mention), and more recently The Shameless by Konstantin Bojanov (World Premiere at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, Un Certain Regard, Best Actress Award for Anasuya Sengupta). Although passionate about feature films, Maéva also wishes to produce other formats, such as short films and series. In 2024, she founded the production company Stories We Tell (S.W.T). Currently, she is working with filmmakers like Elsa Biedermann (bleumoi and The left glove) and Jocelyn Harp (Cloudmakers). She is also pursuing her Editor activity as a Freelancer.
