My name is Odysseas Liakos, I am based in the UK and came over from Greece to study (BA) Music (Film Music) at the Leeds Conservatoire, currently in my last year (3rd) and to pursue my passion. Since I was very little, I have been listening to orchestral music and had a passion for it, then aged 14 I took this passion seriously and decided that it was what I wanted to do. I self-taught and practised, I got to compose music for one of the largest historical documentary series in Greece aged only 16, then I won the 1st Award for my orchestration and composition in Greece and Cyprus aged 18 and also had my first interview in the National Greek Radio. At 18 I got accepted into the Film Music BA at Leeds Conservatoire and made the leap to move on my own to Leeds, United Kingdom, to study my craft properly and I have been continuously practising composition/orchestration and film scoring, which has greatly developed my skills. Now, nearing the end of my degree I want to jump straight into what I was set out to do. Orchestration is my absolute passion, I have very advanced orchestration and composition skills and know the sound of the orchestra very well. I have endlessly practised composition and orchestration for the past 6+ years. Studying at the Leeds Conservatoire has helped my skills immensely, I have recently had 1-2-1s with one of the greatest Hollywood orchestrators Nicholas Dodd and continue to learn a wealth of knowledge from his feedback. My journey as an orchestrator and composer has a long way to go and looking to create a portfolio of work and am determined to do my best.
