uniE613 Brand refresh – Drewry – Global Shipping Consultants
CHALLENGE Drewry needed a 360° brand refresh across all communications channels. To develop a design system, our role involved finding the right visual language to complement the brand and to produce style guides and toolkits to inform design treatments going forward. As this consultancy provides research and insights to some of the largest global shipping firms, they wanted a serious corporate brand identity to reflect this. SOLUTION We set out to invigorate the existing brand which was lacking integrity, cohesion and structure. The four business units within this global shipping consultancy needed clearer differentiation. Our approach looked to include a design treatment which could be used across any form of communication, and tie the brand together – the ship’s bow (angled shape) in this instance. Providing detailed guidance – imagery, fonts, colours, layout styles and design treatments were all updated. Ultimately we gave them a fresh and contemporary corporate brand with a suite of materials, including: • corporate brand guidelines • corporate brochure • sector brochures • ad design template • white paper template • MS Office templates • letterheads • business card template • print & delivery across the above. ADDITIONAL INFO This project spanned around six months, and our brand guidelines ultimately informed their website (provided by our web design partners). We’re passionate about precision design communicating a brand effectively and clearly. We also provided infographic design solutions for absorbing often complex information easily and with minimum fuss. brandrefresh branddesign projectmanagement branding uk global
uniE613 Full Rebrand – Nexus Planning – UK-based Town Planning Firm
CHALLENGE Nexus Planning found themselves in an increasingly competitive marketplace and sought to refresh their branding across all marketing channels. Their incumbent brand was attractive but suffered from appearing too meek and apologetic in such a competitive marketplace. The brand treatments themselves were fussy and over-complicated, leading to a dilution of brand cohesion within their own designs. We needed to deliver a bold rebrand to reflect the growth of their business and aspirations of becoming the leading brand in the town-planning business sector. We felt the logo was part of the problem and sought to sell-in our design concepts for a new logo. They were suitably impressed at board level and ultimately decided to give the green light to our designs. SOLUTION One key reason that their brand was lacking stand-out was that their logo was very ‘light’ in weight. Our approach was to develop a robust and formidable logo, drawing upon the meaning of the word Nexus (a central link or connection). We gave the brand colour palette clearly defined and punchy colours for different business areas, something we also tied into the sub-brand logos. We developed graphical framing treatments to be used as a brand metaphor – intersecting lines, creating blocks of colour to be used across a range of applications. Bespoke and stock photography was commissioned/sourced and we built a substantial image library for use by the business going forwards. ADDITIONAL INFO This project was rolled out over approximately six months and amongst other deliverables, included: • New logo • New colour palette • New photography • Brand guidelines • Capabilities brochure • Brochure templates (.indd) • Report templates (.indd) • Ad templates (.indd) • Business card templates (.indd) • Image library • Powerpoint templates • Word templates • 10 year anniversary logo. The website was created via a third-party web design agency with a clear direction from our brand guidelines.
