Hello! My name is Robson. I'm a digital illustrator specializing in Children's book illustration. I am currently based in Melbourne, Australia. I create characters design for children's books based on the author's script and feedback. My illustration skills have been applied to 2D and 3D animation projects, graphic design, T-shirt design, logos and corporate mascots. I have lectured fundamentals of drawing, 2D animation principles and digital painting at colleges for game and animation course. Please find below a short description of how we can work together: 1. Usually, the initial contact will determine the project goals, style, timeframe, budget and the deliverables involved. 2. Once the admin side has been agreed, I start with some sketches for the characters and the scenes, present them to the client and implement feedback if any. 3. Start storyboarding the book with some rough thumbnails to present the story flow. This is usually grayscale or black and white simple lines. I then present the idea to the author and implement the feedback that has been provided. Once the alterations have been applied and approved by the author, we are ready to move to the next step. 4. Line art and coloring, at this stage I will present the full-scale line art of the shapes and drawings that will become the final illustrations. a. Approval of the above step. (I'll guide you on composition decision, designs and colour choices). b. Final art line process and colour sample for a single page to be used as a sample. Send the artwork to the author for approval and from this point all other pages will have similar quality. c. Apply the appropriate technique/style to all illustrations. 5. Finalize the artwork, small feedback from the author and implementation, such as simple colour contrast enhancement, consistency check and minor adjustments are possible! Provide the final artwork. Please note, no major re-design is applied at this stage. If for some reason a major re-design or major elements need to be applied to the illustration(s), we can talk about it. I will provide a new budget and the timeframe to complete the task. Business hours: Monday - Friday, 8am to - 3pm, AEST (UTC +10). Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have, and I’ll respond during my work hours. I also had the opportunity to work as bookcoverdesigner and graphicdesigner setting the book for printing. Author’s testimonial: “Hi Robson, Thank you so much for all of your amazing work! I just want to say that I am soooooooooo amazingly happy with all of your work! I love ALL the animals, characters, and pages. You did such an amazing job with this!!”
