I'm a designer from Sri Lanka ARTIST & ILLUSTRATOR Mediums: Acrylic Painting, Digital Art, Illustration, Installations Ruwangi Amarasinghe, 32, is an Artist \ Illustrator living and working in Matara, Sri Lanka. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, but her work has since been mainly focused on illustration and painting. She inherited and honed her skills from her diversely artistic family. She works as the head Illustrator at Fold Media Collective, a group of like minded creatives who have been working together since 2012. Having on various projects from music label artwork, event posters, children's books, murals, maps and animated videos. With the rest of her time, she paints canvas paintings, mostly with acrylics but also using other various mediums like ink, charcoal, pastels and markers. Her style of art is surreal mixed with fantasy. She is known for using vibrant colours and unique style in her art. Ruwangi works with Sri Lanka’s first electronic music label, Jambutek Recordings, illustrating covers for all their releases. She has been involved in the music festival Pettah Interchange, and art exhibitions such as Imago Mundi, Colomboscope, and the Alchemy Festival. Her personal work is inspired by her interest in the cosmic universe, human consciousness & emotions, science fiction and nature.
