    Hello Mozart, which was traditionally a trailer cutting studio, came to me to create a fully animated short for the BFI, celebrating the DCMS Culture Recovery Fund, which kept cinemas alive during the pandemic.  Working with the evocative lines by poet Charli Whatley, I created the style and storyboards, using a cinematic shaft of light that stays in frame the whole time as a dynamic pivot that the action revolves around. I then brought in illustrator Matthew Johnston to design the beautiful and unique frames, which I then animated in tandem with the voice over and soundbed that Hello Mozart’s internal team was developing. The theatrical version of the short was screened in over 250 cinemas across the UK before every film and at the BFI Southbank for a year while the fund was actively supporting the cinemas. We also created cut down digital versions which were distributed across the BFI & DCMS social channels. This project was also featured on the prestigious Motionographer.  The client re-engaged for an updated campaign in 2022, for which we used the same style and animation combined with live action footage.…
