NJ based Kurt Engfehr has worked in all areas of television and film documentary production and is best known for his work as the editor and co-producer on Michael Moore’s Oscar-winning, Bowling For Columbine for which he also won the American Cinema Editors award for best documentary editing, and Cannes Palme d’Or winning and box-office hit, Fahrenheit 9/11. He has also recently won an Emmy for his work on the Axios on HBO news show.
Since these films, he has partnered with various NGOs and special-interest groups to make films about the marginalized and under-represented members of society, ranging from those with autism to those dealing with obesity to victims of African river blindness.
He worked with the LBJ Foundation to direct the hour-long special, LBJ: What The Hell Is The Presidency For? for The History Channel, working with Anthony Mackie who voiced the narration and recent Sundance film, Food & Country which follows acclaimed author Ruth Reichl as she investigates the state of our food distribution network.
He also spent 10 days in the Gulf Coast area of the US filming artists and their hometowns for Gulf Coast Love Story a doc about the relationship between art and climate change,
Kurt’s worked with and led teams of various sizes, from two people to twenty. He has detailed and intimate understanding of all facets of film and video production including run & gun field production, large commercial productions and editorial, both offline and online/finishing including music, animation and graphics.
