Education

Masters at University of the West of England
October 15, 2024 - October 15, 2024
During my Master’s, I explored bookmaking, animation, and textile screen printing, focusing on blending typography and performance. My projects included custom typefaces, animated posters, and an exhibition that captured the energy of boxing and dance clubs. Using tools like Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, and InDesign, I brought these ideas to life. I collaborated with DJ Dillinja, a pioneering drum and bass producer, on my final project, which was exhibited at the Spike Museum in Bristol. The work combined typography, animation, and textile screen printing, exploring identity and non-verbal communication in sports and dance through a multi-sensory experience.
BA Hons at University for the Creative Arts
September 15, 2020 - May 17, 2023
Year 1 Developed core illustration skills, explored audience engagement, and experimented with new techniques like 3D work, arts and crafts, and bookmaking. Managed time well to balance research and creative exploration. Year 2 Balanced exhibition work, documentation, and editorial illustration. Gained experience curating rooms, blending sculpting with digital illustration, and creating a zine on humans, music, and memories. Built a website and blog to share insights from editorial illustration interviews and conferences. Year 3 Refined my visual voice through self-directed projects and competition entries. My Risograph work was selected for the Bush Hotel contest (2022) and used as a background scenic feature for Netflix’s Heartbreakers (2022). I was one of two selected for the graduation ceremony book (2023) and the New Designers Exhibition in London (2023).

uniE621 Marketing designs for the High Points Band
I worked with a funk pop band based in Norwich, UK, to design both Instagram and poster visuals for their upcoming event at Voodoo Daddy's. My goal was to capture the lively and upbeat essence of their music by using a bold, retro, and psychedelic aesthetic. The designs feature vibrant, eye-catching colors and playful typography that resonate with the band’s dynamic energy. These visuals were created to engage their audience and build excitement for the event, reflecting the band’s funky and fun style while drawing in new fans through a cohesive, memorable visual identity. graphicdesigner illustrator designer

    uniE613 Burlesque: Liberation on Stage
A series of illustrated interviews with four different burlesque dancers based in New York, Los Angeles and London which helps shed light on the deeper meaning of burlesque beyond the razzle dazzle, shimmy, glitter and feathers. uniE613 How Can Dance and Boxing become Type?
Combining boxing and dance is unconventional and out of the box, as they are not typically seen together—a dancer wouldn’t usually be found in the ring, and a boxer might not step into a dance class. After six months of interviews and research with Darren Hamilton, a British Super Lightweight Boxing Champion, and Jasmine Haque, a dance teacher at the Werburghs "Find Your Fierce" dance club, I explored how typography can illustrate the grace in boxing and the ferocity in dancing. This project was exhibited at the Spike Museum in Bristol, showcasing how dance and boxing can be expressed through typography, in collaboration with DJ Dillinja.
