I'm Yuki Nishimura, a concept designer and illustrator, freelancing for over 15 years. As a concept designer for animations, I've worked in a wide range of projects from 2D TV series for kids, 3D CGI feature, hand-drawn animations to live-action films, creating concept art, character designs, colour scripts, and background designs and paintings. I'm highly trained in Photoshop and have developed versatile styles throughout my career, from simple and stylised drawings, photo-real paintings to vector art for info graphics. My strength is the versatility but what stands out most in my portfolio is the pop and colourful stylised drawing with great details and wild, playful and whimsical imagination. As an illustrator, I've worked for book illustrations, TV ads, T-shirt designs, album covers, theatrical productions and also mural paintings in cafes and offices. I usually paint traditionally with gouache, watercolour, pen, ink and pencils, adding extra digital elements when necessary for projects. My art features upbeat surrealism with great details. They tend to have narrative concepts behind based on the clients' stories, and often hide some symbolic motifs in the details which can be found by the audience with a joyful surprise. I'm a very flexible thinker and great collaborator. I look forward to hearing from you and exploring some adventurous projects!
