Back in 2015, I met my dear friend and long-time collaborator, Mor Machlev, when we were waiters serving (actual) fish to Russian oligarchs. At the time, we were two artists, finding a shared passion for our art that brought us closer together. Being the duo of wacky artists amongst the staff, we used to be a bit chatty during shifts. The management eventually started separating us to different areas of the restaurant, but no one could truly separate us. That bond, formed in a temporary job, turned out to be a very meaningful relationship, both personally and professionally.
Mor has since collaborated with me on numerous theatre projects, bringing her delicate touch, impeccable ear, and immense talent for composing and sound design. Her contributions have always elevated our work, making it richer, deeper, and more powerful. So, when she asked me to direct the music video for the first single of her debut album, I was incredibly honoured.
I wanted the video to reflect the essence of Mor herself: the mesmerizing combination of joyous and somber emotions, erupting through an uplifting spirit. I’m so proud to call her both a friend and a collaborator, and I’m endlessly inspired…Back in 2015, I met my dear friend and long-time collaborator, Mor Machlev, when we were waiters serving (actual) fish to Russian oligarchs.
