LA native Jodi Burian started her career in London in 2008 as a project manager for the agency The Other Hand, a renowned company that represented American record labels in the UK and Europe including Stones Throw Records, Now-Again, Daptone, Innovative Leisure, + more which handled all marketing, distribution, licensing strategies, and production. In 2013, she transferred back to Los Angeles and worked as the Director of Marketing for Stones Throw Records, one of the most renowned independent record labels in the world. She led some of the biggest global marketing campaigns and directed sync licensing + brand partnerships for artists such as Anderson Paak., Snoop Dogg, Madlib, Aloe Blacc, Mayer Hawthorne, Mild High Club and more. In 2016, Jodi returned to London to start up the UK/worldwide office for Brooklyn based independent label Mexican Summer and worked as the label’s Global Marketing Director which placed her behind some of the biggest names in indie music such as Connan Mockasin, Allah Las, Weyes Blood, Washed Out + more. In 2020, Jodi shifted direction and focused on building an expansive licensing catalog across the company’s labels (Mexican Summer, Anthology Recordings, Software, Kemado) where she worked on placements + partnerships with brands such as Apple, Sonos, Chanel, DIOR, Michael Kors, Paramount Pictures, Netflix, Amazon Video and much more. She also created and led the A&R direction and managed all licensing and pitching for Sunset Songs, a one stop music library which saw placements on blockbuster films and across networks such as ABC, HBO, HULU and more. After working with some of the best independent labels, Jodi launched her own self-titled creative agency in 2024, focusing on music supervision, sync placements, music clearance, brand partnerships, and creative strategy.
