    uniE621 Episode Ready
Logo suite, custom icon set and pattern, and social templates for a podcast editor. Client: Episode Ready Industry: Media Date: 2022 Cassidy was pivoting her business from being a copywriter to being a podcast editor, and needed a new brand to match the new business direction. While some of the core elements of her business were remaining the same (her values, her personality), the offerings and even a bit of the tone and focus were shifting. Cassidy’s mission as a podcast editor is to help people-loving podcasters share their stories, grow their following, and inspire others with their show. She’s got an awesome mix of technical know-how, writing skills and heart to really be that supportive partner for podcast hosts. Her new logo was based on the idea of a silhouette of Cassidy – headphones, hair, glasses, smile. It helps capture a personal, friendly, and vibrant feel. It’s paired with a chunky lowercase serif for some fun and spunk. The color scheme is a bit brighter than her previous business. We kept a royal blue and a berry, but added a brighter light blue and deep black for contrast, and a pale yellow, blush, and light grey for versatility. Overall this look is clean, full of personality, and speaks to the human-focused nature of her brand and who she want to work with. Once we had the new logo suite in place, I helped her with a set of custom icons, a custom pattern and some social templates in Canva utilizing her new look. logo graphicdesigner branding designer
    uniE621 Lucent Wellness Experiences
Naming, Logo Suite, Print Collateral, Social Headers and Squarespace Website for Yoga Retreat Business. Client: Lucent Wellness Experiences Industry: Wellness Date: 2022 Lucent Wellness Experiences is a new company offering weekend wellness retreats for busy professionals. Not everyone has the ability or time to do a 10-day retreat in Bali, but everyone needs a chance to escape, breathe, recharge, and connect. Lucent offers weekend yoga retreat escapes near urban areas to make them easily accessible. The driving idea behind this brand was the idea of light and illumination. Founder Jack really wanted to stress that idea of lightness, of energy, of connection. We also wanted to make sure the brand came across as friendly, inviting, upbeat, and nature-oriented without being too rustic, too granola, or too feminine. The logo takes its inspiration directly from the sun – particularly the rising sun and setting sun. The mark is an abstract take on this, with rays spreading out (or ripples of connection) from the illumination behind. This idea carries through the photography used for the brand, with lots of light shining through branches, lens flares, and similar. For the type, a natural-looking scrawl that captures the upbeat, authentic feel for the main title (Lucent) paired with a friendly lowercase serif for Wellness Experiences. For the color scheme, sunrise and sunset again served as inspiration with a grouping of warm tones and a few blue sky tones to offset it. Aside from naming help and the foundational branding elements, I also helped create some print collateral and the Squarespace website. Lucent has launched in Austin and hopes to expand to other areas in 2023. You can visit their website here: https://www.twine.net/signin logo graphicdesigner branding designer
    uniE621 Good Enough For Now
Logo suite, podcast cover art, Squarespace website and social templates for a podcast. Client: Good Enough For Now Industry: Media Date: 2022 When Harper Spero and Steph Kruse came to me to help brand their new partnership/venture/podcast, right away it was clear there was a list of things we didn’t want it to be. Not too perfect or polished-looking, but not too messy either. Not girly or flowery or soft. Not too serious. Confident but not abrasive. And in going through the brand exploration, we landed on some key ideas that we DID want to capture. The idea of being in-between / transitions / change / movement. Being non-linear. Friendliness. No-bullshit humor. Simplicity. Flexibility. A tall order, but a challenge I relished tackling. I love being given a bunch of really abstract ideas like these, and not only making sense of the whole, but bringing it to life visually. The final branding has a type-driven logo that juxtaposes both typefaces and positioning, and a bold, fresh color palette that still feels warm and inviting. It’s eye-catching but not off-putting (getting that shade of green right was key). The visual style beyond that uses a lot of color divides and overlapping elements to reinforce that idea of transition and layers and being non-linear. You’ll see this on the podcast cover art and the website, and even the social media templates. Overall, this was a really fun brand to work on, and I honestly don’t know who is more pleased with how it turned out- me or Harper and Steph! A good problem to have, when all parties love the end result. graphicdesigner logo branding designer
    uniE621 Slackers Brewing Co.
Logo, label design, print collateral, brand guidelines and launch website for local brewery. Client: Slackers Brewing Co. Industry: Alcohol / Food & Bev Date: 2018-2022 Slackers Brewing Co. is a home-brew operation transitioning to a brewery taproom and gathering spot. Owner Derek specializes in malty and rich beers, and experimentation in the craft of brewing. People tend to associate craft beers with bitter hoppy beers and are pleasantly surprised when Slackers beer focuses more on the malts with a balanced hop mix. The ethos at Slackers is a work hard play hard mentality, balanced with an approachable friendliness. The key guiding idea was ‘comfortably adventurous.’ My design approach was to keep things casual and colorful, but still professional. The hand-drawn but not messy feel of the main type in the logo balances with the clean sans serif of the secondary text. The bright color palette of the logo and labels is bold without being off-putting. The beer ring motif is a nice subtle industry nod throughout the brand suite. With the new branding in place, Slackers was able to run a successful crowdfunding campaign to raise funds towards realizing their brick-and-mortar location. They achieved 122% of their funding goal. Aside from helping them get their launch website up and running, I’ve also been consulting on how to apply their logo/branding to signage and merchandise. Launch website is live at https://www.twine.net/signin Slackers officially opened its doors in November of 2021! If you’re in the Austin area, drop by and try one of their beers. logo graphicdesigner branding designer
