    uniE613 Ashoka
Ashoka Exports is a distinguished manufacturer and exporter of jute and cotton bags from India, specializing in an extensive range of products including jute bags, cotton bags, recycled cotton bags, and organic cotton bags. These bags are designed to meet a variety of utility and fashion needs. In 2017, I had the opportunity to work on a project with Ashoka Exports. My approach was guided by the nature of the products—since they are made from recycled materials, I believed it was essential to reflect their natural essence. Therefore, I focused on incorporating elements that evoked a sense of nature into the design, aiming to highlight the environmentally friendly and sustainable attributes of the products.
    uniE608 SIRIUS
ABOUT THE PROJECT Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) is a company that makes medicines, and they wanted to make a computer program called Sirius to help their scientists find information quickly. The goal of the Sirius program was to create an easy-to-use tool that would help BMS scientists search and analyse data, see pictures of the data, and work together with their team.To make Sirius helpful, the program was designed to learn from the data and suggest things to the scientists. This helped the scientists find information more quickly and work more efficiently. Overall, the Sirius program helped BMS scientists work better and faster, which helped the company create new medicines more quickly. GOAL Empower Clients: Create an automated application that enables clients to seamlessly and intuitively input their requirements, ensuring they feel understood and valued throughout the process. Enhance Safety and Risk Assessment: Develop a sophisticated tool that meticulously assesses risks associated with each client's specific needs, promoting a safer working environment and fostering trust. Optimise Recommendations: Utilise advanced algorithms to provide personalised recommendations for safety equipment tailored to each client's unique situation, enhancing protection and efficiency. Streamline Processes: Replace the manual requirement collection system with a robust, multi-device compatible application, significantly reducing processing time and increasing productivity for both clients and our team. Foster Collaboration: Facilitate better communication and collaboration among team members by integrating features that support data sharing and project management, leading to more cohesive and effective teamwork. Promote Accessibility: Ensure that the application is accessible on multiple devices, providing flexibility and convenience to clients and staff, thereby improving user satisfaction and engagement.
    uniE608 PATIENT-SAFETY APPLICATION
ABOUT THE PROJECT A Patient Information Center (PIC) from Philips would be expected to provide comprehensive monitoring and data management solutions. These systems often allow healthcare providers to collect, analyse, and visualise a wealth of patient data in real-time, supporting clinical decisions and overall patient care. They can integrate data from multiple devices and systems, providing a consolidated view of each patient’s status. Centralised Patient Data: The PIC provides a unified view of each patient’s data from multiple devices and sources. This includes vital signs, waveforms, and clinical measurements. It helps in quick and effective decision-making, reducing the time clinicians spend on gathering and interpreting data. Real-time Monitoring: The PIC allows real-time patient monitoring, which is crucial in critical care scenarios. Clinicians can monitor a patient’s heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and other vital signs continuously and react quickly to any changes. Data Analysis and Visualisation: Advanced analytical tools provide insights from the collected data. These can include trends over time, alarms, and other significant events, helping clinicians detect patterns and make informed treatment decisions. Integration with HospitalInformation Systems: The PIC can integrate with other hospital systems such as electronic medical records (EMR), laboratory information systems (LIS), and radiology information systems (RIS). This provides a more holistic view of the patient’s health status. Alarm Management: The PIC includes sophisticated alarm management features that can help reduce alarm fatigue among clinicians. It allows customisation of alarm limits and parameters to better suit individual patient needs and conditions. Support for Clinical Protocols: The PIC can assist with adherence to clinical protocols, providing reminders and alerts for key actions and procedures. GOAL The goal is to enhance the efficacy and user-friendliness of a two-decade-old patient-safety application. This is to be achieved through a comprehensive redesign process that includes rigorous research, meticulous task distribution, and development of intricate designs adaptable to multiple devices. The aim is to improve accessibility and convenience, ultimately enabling faster, more informed decision-making to better patient safety outcomes. The redesign must align with UX/UI principles and meet data security standards and healthcare regulations. The overarching objective is to use modern design techniques and technology to improve healthcare delivery and patient safety.
