    uniE613 Glastonbury 2024 - Fatboy Slim & Arcadia Spectacular - opening ceremony
In collaboration with Fatboy Slim, Arcadia Spectacular, and the Wudjuk Noongar, I was asked to help build a soundtrack to launch an incredibly ambitious creative vision at Glastonbury – the Dragonfly. Taking care of all original composition, sound design, remixing, music editing, mixing and final show mastering was probably the biggest creative challenge I have worked on to date. The show was performed at the end of a 1.5 hour opening DJ set by Fatboy Slim, to 60k people, and each night there after. Full project breakdown here - https://www.robblake.uk/portfolio/the-dragonfly/ Built from an ex-military Royal Navy helicopter, transforming a ‘weapon of destruction’ into ‘a unifying symbol’, the Dragonfly embodied the spirit of Arcadia’s roots. Equiped with ground breaking technology, it metamorphosied into a moving work of art throughout the festival, with many saying it was unike anything they had seen before. It was an honour to work with the Wudjuk Noongar again following the Yallor Keeninyara collaboration, and to then also combine it with Fatboy Slim’s legendary ‘Right Here, Right Now’ (a track that has inspired me for years) and also have the opportunity to remix that for the show, to be played at the end of Fatboy Slim’s set, together with all the sound design elements – it really was a creative dream. https://youtu.be/c8GsHEGb7t8?feature=shared&t=564
    uniE613 Red Bull - Fire & Water
My composition & sound design work for the Red Bull short film – ‘Fire & Water’. This video was a lot of fun to work on, and it was a great collaborative experience working directly with the video editor and creative team at Red Bull media as the project was being put together. With this process it meant we could go back and forth with the audio and video edits to get a nicely synced final product – not usually an option when presented with a final video edit that needs music ASAP! One of my favourite parts is when the fire is introduced - seeing this dramatic visual instantly made me think of a huge epic choir, so using some vocal synthesis tricks I created a virtual choir singing the lines 'Veni Vedi Veci ( I came, I saw, I conquered) - I lyric that I thought fitted the breakdance battle nicely! Hats off to the dancers in this video – all real-life special effects with nothing added in post production. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/JywQgpVSlEk?si=S41CClv1bkwKD3y5" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe>
uniE613 BMW - TV, Online & Radio Ad
I composed this piece to brief for BMW working with Australian agency Level Two and supervised by What Do You Sync (UK) The brief was fairly open, with the request for an emotional and uplifting piece of music to fit the picture. I went for some nicely spaced out piano chords and acoustic guitars, backed up by more modern sounding filtered drums and then layered with sweeping string arpeggios to lift everything towards the end of the piece. I then built reversed vocal melody effects and time stretched cymbal swells for ambience. The add was shown on national Australian TV and Radio, worldwide Internet. I received the request on Thursday and delivered on the following Monday, with minimal changes needed following feedback. https://www.twine.net/signin
