London-based Illustrator and mural artist Tobias Hall takes full advantage of Affinity Designer’s ability to mix vector and pixel based tools.
To achieve his signature hand-crafted feel the bull illustration and lettering were created in raster using Affinity Designer’s pre-loaded brushes. Tobias then switched to vector for the corner ornaments.
See how ‘No Compromise’ came together in Affinity Designer for iPad in Tobias’ time-lapse workflow video.
The main tools and techniques used:
- Sketching using Brushes Studio (raster based) in Pixel Persona
- Inking/overdrawing using Pen Tool and Node Tool
- Inking and adding texture using Pixel Persona Brushes Studio
- Flood Fill Tool (Pixel Persona) to fill lettering/shapes
