HOLITOPIA is a forum for ideas, debate and transfer. The annual festival brings together art, design, architecture, science, technology and futurology to explore and facilitate alternative futures.
It is hosted by the re:future lab Institute for Art & Future Design, Berlin, curated and directed by Madeleine Schwinge.
Each year's edition spans a period of 1 to 3 months and is embedded in a thematic exhibition, often with a large performative component.
It focuses on a specific theme anchored in the research clusters of the re:future lab and is complemented by educational outreach (knowledge transfer) that includes the two-day.
HOLITOPIA symposium, future design workshops, artistic workshops, lectures and publications.
The program is co-curated and delivered by re:future lab fellow experts, fellow artists and selected guest speakers.
HOLITOPIA addresses change makers, experts, researchers and activists in the fields of ecological, economic, technological and social transformation.
It aims to facilitate knowledge transfer into civil society and thus open up access to knowledge that is usually confined to specialist circles. Art, design and architecture play a strong catalytic role in this by enabling new perspectives and experiences, and leading to deeper insights.…HOLITOPIA is a forum for ideas, debate and transfer.
