Courtney Jones believes story to be the foundation to all art forms and that it is how humans connect and disconnect with their surroundings. Combining her background in film and her passion for writing, Jones attended Ringling College of Art and Design, majoring in Creative Writing after switching from the Film major. Despite the switch, Jones continued a close relationship with the Film program and its students and still aspires to become a writer/director for film and an author. Her writing is usually encapsulated in family dynamics and familial trauma, using memories and nostalgia as a structural mechanism. Jones draws from things she’s experienced to best capture the realism she strives for in her work.
