I have plenty of experience editing videos for a vast array of clients in very different styles. A lot of the projects I have worked on have been aired on TV, but also reformatted for social media, so I have a good understanding of what's needed to captivate attention quickly, as well as knowing the more technical specifications when it comes to delivery. I have an MA in Digital Documentary, where I learnt to find and craft the essence of a narrative. Since then I have freelanced mostly within the realm of sports, but have also worked with The Salvation Army to produce short-form films on some sensitive topics ranging from modern slavery, to domestic violence. I have a strong understanding on how to present such difficult topics in a way that is respectful to the people involved, while still captivating an audience. Having worked with many sports companies, I know how important it is to hit a deadline whilst working on multiple projects simultaneously. I am well-versed in a fast-paced environment where it is key to produce outstanding content in a short space of time. Within said roles, I have edited in various styles such as promotional videos, documentary features, and highlights. For such projects, I have had to incorporate music and visual and sound effects to convey emotion and build suspense in a compelling way. Often working closely with producers in the earlier stages of production, I understand how important it is to have a strong line of communication to ensure we are working towards the same end goal. As well as a video editor, I am a semi-professional beach volleyball player, competing on the World Tour for England. I am a highly dedicated individual, and manage my training and competition around my work schedule. I also work as a volleyball coach with children and young adults.
