Eleanor Jackson is a Bristol based actor and screenwriter. Her focus is on writing stories about women finding themselves in a changing world, often exploring the tensions between liberal and conservative cultures She is also inspired by her time spent in Germany as a child and aims to create bi-lingual works that encourage audiences to consider other languages and mindsets. After completing her studies in German at Bristol University, Eleanor pursued her passion for acting and trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She has worked for notable theatre companies such as Bristol Old Vic, Eastern Angles, and Aria Entertainment. She can also be seen as series regular Princess Irene in Sky History's recent drama The Royal Mob and plays Winifred Dartie in Mammoth/PBS upcoming The Forsyte Saga. She has recorded a number of audiobooks for Penguin, Harper Collins and Bloomsbury. She is also the voice of Young Jeanne in Bayonetta: Cereza and the Lost Demon. Currently studying for a screenwriting MA at Raindance Film School, Eleanor has worked with established screenwriters and directors. She previously workshopped her pilots with Sundance Collab courses, and her pilot 'Give Me The Cake' came in at the top 15% of the BBC Writer's Room Open Call. She has made two of her own pieces When Anna met Karin (2019) and a proof of concept for a German/English TV Series The Champagne Socialist (2023) directed by Raphaela Wagner and produced by Hatty Haines. This premiered at Raindance Film Festival in 2023 and is currently in development. With her creative partner, Sarah Sawyer- McCarthy, Eleanor has made two shorts: 200 (2021) and Little Joy (2021) starring Mei Mac. Eleanor produced Straight Jacket (2022) directed by Hatty Haines, starring Keziah Joseph and Enlightened (2022) directed by Mark Edel- Hunt, starring Sadie Shimmin, Macy Hyman and Ayesha Antoine. She has worked as a development producer for Auntie, the debut film of theatre director Monique Touko and Time Share (2025) written by Jules Robinson and directed by Sarah Sawyer-McCarthy.
