My name is Eric Slick and I’m best known for my work as a drummer, vocalist, composer, and songwriter. My musical journey began when I was young - I attended the very first School of Rock in Philadelphia, PA. My early exposure to a variety of musical genres and rigorous performance schedules set me up to begin touring after high school. In 2006, I joined a Frank Zappa tribute act called Project/Object and simultaneously joined Adrian Belew’s band. I also began performing locally with the band Ween, and a whole slew of others.
After touring the world for a few years, I joined the critically acclaimed band Dr. Dog. My tenure with Dr. Dog saw the release of several albums, including “Shame, Shame,” “Be The Void,” and “B-Room”. Beyond my work with Dr. Dog, I’ve collaborated with a multitude of artists, including projects with Taylor Swift, The War On Drugs, Natalie Prass, Ruston Kelly, Robyn Hitchcock, among others.
In 2014, I began to make solo albums. Learning how to record and put out my own records has been a challenging and incredible process. It’s the one that
has probably altered my relationship with music the most. I’ve also dipped my toes into film scoring, and I recently scored the Hillary Swank film The Good Mother. Composing is one of my true passions, and I hope I get to do more in the future.
