Erro Press
Erro Press is an independent publishing house that champions ground-breaking voices that disrupt the narrative. They therefore wanted a brand that communicated this.
We created a bespoke logo that almost felt traditional and crafted but simple which then allowed us to be free and playful with the surrounding brand. We wanted something that evoked the process of writing, with hand-drawn scribbles, crossings out, and typography, all indicative of the drafting and editing process.
We didn't want to just depict the final pristine publications, but showcase the messy, iterative, and creative process that goes into every piece. These elements also disrupt the clean lines and uniformity of what it's paired with. The use of the blue also speaks of ink, again representing the tactile and hand-crafted elements of creative writing.
The end result is a unique brand that stands out in the crowd as a call to arms to those writers and creators with a voice to be heard.…Erro Press is an independent publishing house that champions ground-breaking voices that disrupt the narrative. Blaze Trails
The parent's outdoor network, Blaze Trails was born out of the need for parents to get outdoors and be active with their babies. Being active and adventurous does not need to end once you have a child, and Blaze Trails have built up a network of parents who love to get outdoors with like-minded people and their babies.
Blaze had an existing brand that was created at the very beginning, but it no longer reflected the community that had grown around it. Blaze was making waves, had a voice and opinions, it was bright, vibrant, and strong while accessible and welcoming to everyone - but the team were struggling to communicate all this visually.
It was time for a revamp! To us, the brand screamed for something bespoke and handmade. The new logo has bags of personality, the type itself is hand-drawn and an array of hand-drawn icons and assets grew around it, all speaking of the different elements of Blaze’s offering. This cursive and playful branding is supported by a bright and punchy palette that has ties to nature through landscape, sunsets, sunrises, and earth.
An outdoor brand but with a twist, Blaze proudly represents parents and careers of all types, building communities of outdoor enthusiasts.…The parent's outdoor network, Blaze Trails was born out of the need for parents to get outdoors and be active with their babies. Roots of Belonging
Roots of Belonging creates and runs workshops for marginalised people on home, belonging and the more than human world. Exploring identity and self, on how connection (or disconnection) with nature can be in concert or conflict with it.
Originally creating the brand for the podcast, Xeno, the founder, Isabella approached Off Grid once more to create the brand for the new venture. Born from a similar place to Xeno - exploring home, identity, and belonging - Roots of Belonging needed to feel connected whilst also standing on its own two feet.
The creative concept of ‘Storyteller’ soon emerged, allowing us to explore the idea that with deep understanding, our narratives can change around our sense of belonging and connection to the more-than-human world. It’s a process of collective sense-making and unravelling our story.
The logo that presented itself from this was a hand-drawn figure, sat, rooted on the ground. The figure feels reflective, thoughtful, and almost like they’re listening. The figure sat down also feels more inclusive and accessible.
The surrounding brand has the feeling of a note or sketchbook, with handwriting, layering of images, and fluid layouts, and the palette is inspired by nature without feeling obvious. Roots of Belonging feels like a unique, honest, and thoughtful brand that invites you into its world.
The website not only needed to clearly communicate the Roots of Belonging offering, but speak of the aspirations and intentions of the brand in a way that felt free yet considered.
