    uniE613 Podcast Producer - Truth Be Told, Adoption Stories - National Adoption Service of Wales
    I won a British Podcast Award for a series I produced for the Welsh National Adoption Service called Truth Be Told, with the judges praising the podcast's ability to give a voice to young people and show care and pain in an informative manner. On this project I was the lead producer; liaising the the PR company and ensuring their briefs were podcast friendly, securing recording locations, managing an on location recording at an Airbnb with the client, contributors, engineer and runner. I then paper edited each podcast episode, and paper edited each short youtube video.     I currently produce Owain Wyn Evans on BBC Radio 2, alongside multiple podcast and audio documentary projects. I was part of Owain’s show from day one; development, pitching and, now, the day to day production. I’ve built a great relationship with a new presenter, in a new show, in a new location, which has proven itself on air; increasing listening figures in a time of change for the station. As producer, I come up with ideas for content, write scripts, edit audio, live studio produce, produce digital videos and manage an assistant producer. I have loved building a show around companionship at that time of day and creating a story throughout each show; from putting listeners’ car games on the radio, to helping us with mathematical equations on how many ‘greats’ should be in Year 3000.     I am particularly proud of my work at Guide Dogs, where I sourced and produced case study videos and website copy for adults and children with vision impairments This involved talking to to operational staff to gain leads, researching and building a relationship with the case study, pitching it to my editor, then writing and producing video marketing material. Many of these projects included children where extra care is involved to ensure the parents and children understand, child safety protocols are followed and also that the child is right for the piece. All this involved gaining the trust from operational staff who are close to their service users, and also the service users themselves who are vulnerable.     I’m also proud of producing Grief Kind for Sue Ryder, where author, journalist and Sue Ryder ambassador, Clover Stroud spoke with celebrities such as Lisa Riley, Richard Arnold and Lottie Tomlinson about their experiences of bereavement. I was the lead producer on this project, liaising with the PR company, writing briefs from pre-interviews and online research, managing online recordings, paper editing and writing show notes. I was the lead producer working on developing the series with a local science professor, pitching it to the commissioners, researching the content, organising interviews, paper editing, music reporting and programme admin.
