GAL GEORGE GJURIN, Toronto, Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, born November 12 1978. Vocalist, songwriter, bandleader, multi-instrumentalist, music producer, composer of orchestral works, independent publisher, film music composer, film director, prose writer, poet and lyricist. 1. Nominee at 2025 Canadian Folk Music Awards (Ottawa) for Producer Of The Year 2025 (his album “How about a kiss?”). 2. Winner of three OMA Music Awards in Toronto (2021 and 2022), including Song Of The Year and Video Of The Year. 3. Recipient of five other notable OMA Music Awards nominations in Toronto, including Artist of the Year 2023. 4. His poetry has been translated into 7 languages and it’s found in various poetry anthologies. He has published 23 original studio and live albums with his original music, always supported by extensive touring (concert halls, theatres, festivals, sports halls, auditoriums, various clubs, outdoor venues etc. As a prolific music producer he has produced over 50 albums. He has presented his original music live in the U.S., France, Italy, Canada, Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, Ireland, Slovakia, Iceland, Croatia, Germany etc. He promotes music, language and cultural diversity through music, teaching and working with artists from different generations and genres: tours, online, radio, interviews, TV, PRESS, seminars and live concerts. He plays over 60 instruments (keys, guitars, brass, strings, woodwinds, bass, percussive and alternative world-music instruments (Native American-African-Cuban-Classical Indian). He’s always been open to different cultural influences, not limited to one single musical genre, especially when it comes to songwriting, studio work & live performing. While studying abroad at the Faculty of Arts in Slovenia, European Union (Language and Literature; Sociology of Culture), he proposed a theory of fusing artistic and musical genres and thus surpassing lingering post-modernistic concepts, ushering general artistic development into a new no-border era. The proposed theory still serves as the frameworks of his artistic endeavors. Considering his wide artistic and musical vocabulary, fusing folk, blues, jazz, Canadiana, Americana, traditional, rock, gospel, world music, funk, r’n’b, pop, classical, country, bluegrass, hip-hop, electronic, orchestral etc., Gal George continuously uses different musical approaches. He mainly works, composes and records in his own studios: STUDIO OSH (Toronto, Oshawa, Canada) and STUDIO HAD (Ljubljana, Slovenia, European Union). One of his outstanding touring achievements was a straight 2 year tour (2013–2015) with a full 80-piece symphonic orchestra, for which he’d written more than 5.500 pages of symphonic scores and orchestral arrangements (including conducting). Gal predominantly tours with his 4–15 piece band, depending on the project he’s currently working on. For his work he has received other notable nominations and awards in Europe and the U.S., (ISC semi-finalist etc.).
