My Turn! Is a 2D animated short film following sisters Liz and Beth one morning as they race to get to the bathroom first. Inspired by looney tunes and slapstick comedy cartoons, the sisters take increasingly chaotic measures to reach the bathroom. Their wild antics have allowed this short to fully embrace the 2d animation medium, stretching our characters and pushing silly scenarios to the absurd.
Based on director Isabelle Tumboimbela’s childhood in Jakarta, this film is a tribute to sweet, complex, and infuriating sibling relationships. Underneath the sister’s rivalry, there’s a bond stronger than any fight or argument. This film is dedicated to the power of sisterhood and the way love shapes us.
