    Cape 2 Cairo is my first official release as IZWI, and it’s a deeply personal project. I wanted to create something that felt like a journey—one that moves through the sounds, stories, and spirit of Africa from the southern coast to the north. It’s not just a mixtape or a beat tape—it’s a sonic map, a soundtrack for the modern African soul.

    As a drummer and producer, rhythm is where I start. You’ll hear influences from jazz, soul, hip-hop, amapiano, and traditional African percussion—all woven into cinematic textures and layered storytelling. This project was born out of a desire to reconnect with my roots, honour my influences, and showcase the musical richness that stretches across the continent.

    Cape 2 Cairo is my way of saying: Africa isn’t a genre—it’s a frequency. And through this project, I’m inviting people to tune in.
