My name is Isabelle Bickerton and I am an aspiring Film Director. My passion has always been the film, tv, radio and theatre industry due to it allowing me to bring my ideas to life and express myself in a way no other job can. Growing up I have always been interested in how a small idea can come to be a sense of comfort and entertainment for audiences of all ages. As a second year film student at John Leggott College, where I have got to create my own short films that have landed me distinctions, I have the necessary knowledge and learning abilities to grasp the fundamentals of this role. This led to me being selected by my tutors to work on a new NHS podcast, to possibly host and be a part of the production team. For the past 7 years, I have ran my own YouTube channel with my first video being uploaded in 2017, which has developed my confidence both behind and in front of the camera. It’s given me amazing experiences as I have planned, filmed and edited my videos, and also promoted them myself. My confidence not only came from my channel, but also for being on stage. I joined a performance group that allowed me to see the wonders of backstage and the making a show. Taking the time to build these skills has helped me grow as a person to make me the best I can be. I’m quick at picking up new skills and I make sure to push and challenge myself . Being the captain of my college’s netball team has given me excellent leadership and teamwork skills and makes me effective at communicating my ideas.
