    When designing the new SATSA logo for one of our clients at Big Ambitions Marketing, what came to mind was a logo that would be remembered. SATSA's former logo, recognisable and respected, has been their emblem for many years. The previous logo stood for their bond and assurance of quality service within the industry. I took inspiration from the core attributes of tourism itself—connection, adventure, and diversity. The new logo is a harmonious blend of bold colors and contemporary design, signifying innovation and the multifaceted experiences that Southern Africa offers. The arrow element in the design points forward, representing progress and SATSA's role as a directional force in the industry. The concept of the logo resonates with SATSA's mission to be the leading voice in inbound tourism. It aligns with their values of unity, quality, and integrity, ensuring that their members are not just seen as providers but as ambassadors of unique, ethical, and unforgettable travel experiences. SATSA has since adopted this logo, which is a testament to its promise of innovation, growth, and the continuation of the exceptional work that they do in the tourism industry.

    I designed a 12-page infographic for the Association of Southern African Travel Agents, one of our clients at Big Ambitions Marketing, a few years ago. The goal was to explain the pivotal role ASATA plays in the South African travel sector and the economic and operational dynamics of the sector. This involved unpacking the industry’s structure, its economic contribution, employment statistics, and seasonal booking trends.     In mid-June 2022, I received the brief to design a new logo for Dwarsrivier Valley Tourism, one of our clients at Big Ambitions Marketing. The project required the inclusion of river and mountain elements to echo the valley's rich culture and history. What is not often thought of in most design classes or discussed much is that symbols are derived from nature, and this knowledge is very common to every human being. I am a fan of symbols and nature, which I believe are essential in creating an effective logo. The final design respectfully showcased Simonsberg Mountain, encapsulating strength, confidence, and adventure. In creating this logo, I was sensitive and respectful of the culture and history of Dwarsrivier, which is important for collective acceptance.
