Kelsey Le Roux is a talented and dedicated musician and composer with a rich academic background and diverse professional experience. After completing a Master of Fine Arts in Music for Motion Picture and Contemporary Media from the Film Scoring Academy of Europe with First Class Honors, Kelsey has demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence in the field of music composition.
From 2017 to 2020, Kelsey composed for the residence A cappella group at the University of Stellenbosch’s A cappella competition, with their original composition being performed in the Woordfees concert. In 2022, while pursuing their master’s degree, Kelsey worked as an administrative assistant at the European Academy of Fine Arts. Additionally, they participated in part preparation for Natasha Paulberg’s “The Irish Civil War,” further expanding their experience and versatility in composition.
In 2023, Kelsey took on an internship as a marketing and operations assistant at Cinemagic Scoring, a company based in Cape Town. During their tenure, Kelsey played a key role in increasing website traffic and brand awareness through blog writing, social media marketing, email marketing, and researching marketing trends. They also provided administrative support, served as a recording session librarian, and were involved in orchestration and arrangement, score reading, and client liaison activities. Concurrently, Kelsey composed for the short film “Rage” (SA) and the feature film “Kind” (SA), further solidifying their reputation as a versatile composer.
In 2024, Kelsey continued to build their impressive portfolio by composing for the short films “Still Life” (USA) and “Each Man’s Death Avenges Me” (USA).
